David owned The Bunch of Grapes tavern in Hartford which, it is said, on 23rd May 1781, hosted a meeting between George Washington and General Jean-Baptiste, Comte de Rochambeau, to plan their siege of the British at Yorktown. 3

David married Mary Ely on 17 Jan 1750/51 in Westfield, Massachusetts.1 2 (Mary Ely was born in 1716 4 and died on 30 Jan 1761 4.)
