312. Allan Charles Hugh Vidal ¹ ^,336 was born on 6 Aug 1942 in Duncan, British Colombia, Canada ^{¹^,594} and died on 28 Aug 1998 in Vancouver General Hospital, British Colombia ^{⁵⁹³^,594} at age 56. The cause of his death was an aneurysm in the brain.⁵⁹⁴

General Notes: Buz was a keen athlete and outdoors man. He won trophies galore in track events, baseball (he was drafted by the California Angels to be a pitcher), archery (he was Canadian Archery Champion in 1971), badminton and golf. Golf being the ultimate great love.

His occupation provided many opportunities for outside activities and over the years his life was full of duck shooting, deer hunting (with bow and arrow), flyfishing, camping and skiing until finally golf took over. It was the outdoors that in later years gave him inspiration to develop his remarkable talent for painting — possibly, a legacy from his Reynolds forebears — and his house was hung with many of his excellent landscapes with many others finding their way as gifts to grateful recipients. ⁵⁹⁴

• Occupation: 1963.1998, Various places. ⁵⁹⁴ Buz spent his working life in the timber industry in British Columbia and on Vancouver Island. Starting as an Axeman with the Rayonier Company (later to become Western Forest Products) in May 1963 and he moved on to join the Company's engineering department. From the Resident Engineer in Port McNeill in the early 1970s he was promoted to Contract Logging Manager at the company's headquarters in North Vancouver. This was followed by a five-year stint at as Camp Manager in the Queen Charlotte Islands after which it was back to the Vancouver office to promotion as an Area Manager.

In March 1998 he was transferred back to Vancouver Island as Regional Manager - Mainland/Islands Operations, to start up a new office for the Company at Campbell River. It was from that office in August of the same year that he returned home one day with a severe headache which was the first symptom of the brain aneurysm of which he so shortly afterwards tragically died.
